Consider this success mantra as planting a seed that will grow into an abundant harvest. Repeat daily and often.
From The Art of Mindful Living by Thich Nhat Hanh. Audiobook links are below.
Breathing is the essence of Thich Nhat Hanh’s teachings. The technique in the photo is called “In/Out.” We stop thinking so much when we focus on our breath. We all think too much. Our body is present, but our mind is lost in the past or anxious about the future. The first fourteen minutes of The Art of Mindful Living, Part 1 is about this breath. It’s worth a listen.
What is the point of being blessed with talent if you don’t share it with anyone? What if God had created Earth, yet had no one to occupy it? Why have furniture if no one sits on it? What is the point of having musical talent if you won’t play in front of an audience?
Share your talents with the world. You have no idea whose day you will brighten by sharing your gifts.
I share my gifts with the world today.
You all are glorious manifestations of God. Celebrate each other at this time of year. Be joyous and appreciative of the gift of life. Cast your “problems” aside. What good does it do to dwell on your “problems?” Worry does not solve them. Worry keeps you stuck.
Celebrate! You can breathe, see, hear, smell, and touch! You have plenty for which to be thankful. Your five senses allow you to experience God’s earthly creations. Breathe in the air that gives you life. See the sun rise and set. Hear children laughing. Smell food cooking on the stove. Hug another person and feel the love pulsating back and forth between you. Celebrate!
Mantra: I celebrate life today.
A smile or a sincere “thank you” from you to another person touches your heart.
Mantra: I say “thank you” today.
You are worthy of God’s love simply because you were born. All that other stuff you have said and done to yourself, and to other people….get the help you need to let it go.
I am worthy of God’s love today.
Go outside today for at least thirty minutes, no matter the weather. Spend time breathing deep and feel gratitude for being alive.
No matter the weather, it’s all God, so go enjoy it!
I appreciate all that life has to offer.
Lovers, partners, children, spouses, parents, grandparents…when you love someone, it doesn’t matter where he is on the planet. A strong love does not dissipate with distance. It only grows stronger with time.
As long as you are breathing and standing upright, you have the power to create each day however you want. What you do with each 24 hours is up to you.
Most of us have jobs, children, and responsibilities. Inject some fun wherever you can. Make each day special because once the day is over, you don’t get to go back to do it again. Although sometimes we do get a redo! (That’s an inside joke.)
Don’t like what happened yesterday? Do the next day different! Bring what you love to the day. Bring you own unique style, passions, and desires to the day. Don’t wait until your birthday, or a holiday, or an anniversary. Do you!
Be open to miracles. They happen all the time. Why can’t they happen to you?
